Professional Planning in Lake of Bays, Muskoka

Why We're Different...

Our firm's approach to land use planning and development follows the "conservation planning" principle. This principle is based on balance and recognizes the need to maintain the integrity of the natural environment with sustaining economic growth which in some part, relies on physical development.

We recognize the distinct needs of local permanent residents and our neighbours that call Muskoka their second home as well as the businesses and services that rely on both. Climate, terrain, the economy and social needs all influence land use planning decisions and in Muskoka these are complex and diverse. An understanding of the complexity and diversity is what this firm brings to the needs of each of its clients.

Helena Craymer

Helena was born and raised in Muskoka and has an in-depth understanding of the social, economic, and environmental issues present in the area. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science degree at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC and a diploma in Northern Science at Yukon College in Whitehorse, YT before that. Her environmental background has served her well in the Planning sector, particularly in applications for both rural and shoreline development and files that require cross-jurisdictional co-operation (i.e. applications that require approvals from both a local Municipality and a provincial Ministry for example). Helena both prioritizes and prides herself on her friendly but professional relationships with clients, government staff, and team of professional colleagues. Predictably, Helena enjoys spending time in the outdoors in every season, from gardening and berry picking in the summer to ice fishing in the winter.
